New Jersey Newborn Session- Fordham D'Annunzio

Welcome Fordham D'Annunzio! Jeff, Emily, Carmela, and Harvey welcomed this handsome little guy to their new home in Warren, New Jersey. Time surely flies! It seems like not too long ago, Jeff, Emily and I attended high school together. Now they are a family of four and just bought a house in the town where Jeff and his family grew up. The last time I saw the D'Annunzios was when we photographed Carmela's newborn session two years prior. I could not get over how much Carmela has grown, and just how much she has to say! She was so excited to take pictures so that she could see the images on the back of my camera. She carried around her baby doll, Jessica, and sang along to all the lyrics of the Frozen soundtrack throughout the morning. She spent time overseeing the session and then  would pop in and out of her playroom, exclaiming "Tada!" whenever she would reappear. Jeff works in construction, and is starting recruiting for the family business early, so toy trucks were the perfect prop to include. Congratulations Jeff and Emily. You have the sweetest little family.

New Jersey Family Photographer-Liberty State Park, Jersey City

It was so wonderful to see Katie, Michael, and their twin boys Ryan and James again. I first met this awesome family at their home in Hoboken, New Jersey when I photographed the twins for their newborn session featured here (Ryan and James newborn session). It is crazy what a difference a year makes! These two just turned one, are so smiley, and are running around already. We met at Liberty State Park in Jersey City in the early morning. I couldn't believe how much they have grown and how okay they were with a perfect stranger (me) chasing them around, tickling them, and grabbing at their little toes. How adorable are their matching suspenders? The family also has some very exciting news to share. They will be growing by one more in just a few months!

The Best of the Worst- Outtakes :)

You've prepared for your photo session. You have the cutest coordinated outfits planned out. You've given the kids the "pep talk". You've had them practice smiling for the camera. You have the perfect bribes ready to go. But sometimes, it does not matter how prepared you are, or how many pieces of candy you wave at them! Kids are kids and babies are babies. Below are a collection of my favorite outtakes. It's not often that I post photos of crying babies, that you share them on social media, or that we frame them to have in our living rooms. However, this is real life! Children are not happy all of the time! Sometimes, these photos end up being the most memorable later on. Some of my favorite childhood photos are ones where my siblings and I are grumpy, crying, or beings pains. These are the ones you can look back on and laugh, or use for blackmail later in life when your not-so-little-one brings over their first boyfriend or girlfriend ;) This post is for every client that has ever apologized for their child throwing a tantrum, crying, or not wanting their photo taken! Your children are normal and there is no apology needed. It comes with the job. I am just as happy to freeze frame the grumpy faces as I am the smiles!
