Wally's humans are engaged! Harlan popped the question to Emily this past winter at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York. Nothing can warm you up on a cold day quite like a sweet proposal. Harlan had reached out about a month before he had planned to pop the question to Emily. Finding a time to talk over the phone proved to be difficult with the two now working from home in the same apartment, but he managed to schedule me for a "work meeting" and we exchanged many emails finalizing final details. I appreciated just how prepared he was, sending me annotated maps and aerial views of the spot in the park where he planned to drop down on one knee. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to find some film majors filming a movie in the same location at the park. I joined the film crew and was able to hide in plain sight with my camera. Harlan shared his location with me and I was able to track the couple as they made their way over to me to play fetch with their dog. A few tosses of the ball and then Harlan dropped to one knee. Pretty sure that Wally thought Harlan was offering him a very special treat, which made for the perfect picture. Tears and laughter ensued. Champagne was popped. The perfect proposal.
